Love in numbers
In data, perfection is rare, and so it is in LOVE.
If you’ve been following all my posts this week, you will know that Valentine’s day is my favourite holiday.
I care for it more than my birthday and even Christmas.

I think it’s because, at my core (which is the bare minimum), I am all about love, but the main reason is that it’s that one time when almost everyone shows they want to love and be loved.
Small and large businesses, banks, hospitals, organizations, good and evil corporations, good and bad people, religious organizations, agnostics, atheists, every race, nationality, groups, PEOPLE, they want to love and be loved.
And also, maybe because my dad was born on 11/11, which can only mean one thing.
The grand gestures are sweet, but for someone like me who spends most of her days measuring uncertainties, the smallest gestures always move me.
Love works, strangely, the same way.
Signals in noise, testing hypotheses, adjusting for unexpected outcomes.
Nothing is ever complete, but decisions have to be made. Do I want this or not? Is this the right thing or not?
In data, perfection is rare. And so it is in love.
My dad would say: reduce the uncertainty enough to move forward. An accountant, that man.
Relationships feel similar. You will never have all the information. You will have observations, trends, and patterns, and you will have to trust the direction of the curve. But you will not have ALL the information.
If affection had a schema, maybe it would look like this:
SELECT care,
patience,
consistency
FROM connection
WHERE intention = 'genuine';it’s all the things we need, know and should give.
So, today, I’m sending something closer to my language – Python codes.
I made these roses for YOU.
Trust the curve and let love win.
The only thing more powerful than hate is love.

Happy Valentine’s Day. May your models converge and your codes be trustworthy.
